The West Family Scholarship is intentionally focused. It's designed to deeply serve a specific community and a specific set of students. Please review the eligibility requirements before beginning your application.

Eligibility

You qualify if each of the following is true.

  • You're a junior or senior in high school, or a freshman at a NY state college/university.
    Freshman applicants must be enrolled full time.
  • You reside in zip code 12207, 12206, or 12202.
    These are the zip codes the scholarship is designed to serve directly.
  • You're majoring (or plan to major) in a field related to the arts or the business of theatre.
    This includes performance, design, technology, production, administration, and talent representation.
  • Your GPA is at least 2.9.
    Verified from your official high school or university transcript.
What to Prepare

Gather these before you begin.

Official Transcript

A current, official transcript from your high school or university, showing your cumulative GPA.

Personal Statement

A short essay (roughly 500 words) describing your path in the arts and what this scholarship would make possible.

Proof of Residency

Documentation confirming your residence in one of the eligible zip codes — a utility bill, lease, or school record works.

Recommendation (Optional)

A letter from a teacher, mentor, or community member who can speak to your work and character.
